At the Wisconsin Ballet Conservatory, our Mission is to offer the highest quality classical dance program that fosters each student’s technical execution, artistic expression, and creates for them a disciplined and nurturing atmosphere. Based in the Vaganova Methodology of Russian Ballet, each student will progress according to standards that are designed to provide an in depth technical foundation for the premier ballet education in the country.

Children’s Program | Ages 3 - 9

Fairytale

Ages 3 - 5 years, 45 minute class

A curriculum designed for young dancers that develops and encourages creative movement, nonverbal self-expression, imagination, rhythm, musicality, and body awareness. Dancers will explore 6 Storybook Ballet units over the 9 month session, performing in two ballet productions per season: The Nutcracker in December and Alice in Wonderland in April. This class meets once per week

unit 1: cinderella. Unit 2: Snow White. Unit 3: Nutcracker. Unit 4: The Snow Queen. Unit 5: Princess and the Frog. Unit 6: Alice in Wonderland
Pre Ballet

Pre Ballet - Ages 5 - 6, 1 hour per week

A curriculum designed for young dancers that develops and encourages creative movement, nonverbal self-expression, imagination, rhythm, musicality, and body awareness. This class meets once per week. Dancers will perform in 2 productions per year: The Nutcracker in December and Alice in Wonderland in April

Ballet I, II

Ballet I - Ages 7 - 8, 1 hour class

Development of attention span, participation, self-discipline, proper conduct in class, memory, and focus on the training process. Concentration on placement and correct body alignment. Beginning musical considerations such as phrasing, accents, tempo, and rhythm. Introduces ballet positions. Development of coordination skills. Introduces dance education for mastering the placement of the body, legs, arms, and head. This class meets twice per week. Dancers will perform in 2 productions per year: The Nutcracker in December and Alice in Wonderland in April

Ballet I I - Ages 8 - 9, 1.5 hour class

Continuation of development dance education with a focus on mastering the placement of the body, legs arms and head. This class meets twice per week. Dancers will perform in 2 productions per year: The Nutcracker in December and Alice in Wonderland in April

Pre - Professional

Ballet III, IV

Ballet Level III - Ages 10+, 2 hour class | Ballet Level IV - Ages 10+ 3 hour class

Available to dancers ages ten and up, who have completed Ballet I, II or equivalent. Dancers new to Brio will participate in an evaluation to ensure proper leveling and placement. All members of Ballet III and IV are able to participate in Electives to enrich their training experience. Classes meet twice weekly + Electives. Dancers will perform in 2 productions per year: The Nutcracker in December and Alice in Wonderland in April

Electives

Pre Professional Electives - Ages 10+

Available to dancers in Ballet III and Ballet IV. Electives are designed to enrich dancer’s training and movement quality and provided as part of your annual tuition. After registering for your Pre-Professional ballet, choose one elective below and complete your registration.

Brio Studios is the only studio in the Milwaukee area with a focus on youth-only ballet productions.  As a Conservatory member, you will have the opportunity to showcase your hard work and training in world class, fully youth-casted, stage productions!

A word from your director

Lily Edgar is an accomplished Company Member of the Madison Ballet and Madison Ballet School instructor. Lily is bringing her passion for ballet technique and performance to our National Team Ballet dancers this coming season in Team Ballet Training, leading our annual Nutcracker Ballet Production, and Youth America Grand Prix competition dancers.

Youth America Grand Prix

YAGP is an opportunity for students to learn classical variations that challenge their training and take them to the next level. This is a performance experience for our advanced, most dedicated students. YAGP s an opportunity for our students to participate in Master classes with some of the world's leading Dance instructors. It also provides our students with a chance to win scholarships for dance education as well as showcase our top quality Ballet training.

Solo & Private Lessons

All Ballet Conservatory students are welcome to supplement their training with private instruction. Students may choose to meet weekly to focus solely on growth in technical training with a faculty member of the conservatory, or choose to prepare performance pieces to grow in execution of choreography.
